In a cooperative effort,
the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce offers
an adult leadership program, which alternates each year
between the two Village the Chamber serves. The Leadership
Program is a nine-month program which meets the second
Friday each month beginning in May and ending in February
with a Graduation Ceremony where family and friends are
invited to celebrate and honor each participants
accomplishments. Through this Program, individuals who
may or may not already be involved, will gain not only a
greater understanding of their community, but also introduce
participants to current leaders and form a support network
for the future. |

Janet
Morse, a Lake in the Hills resident and an alumni of the
Lake in the Hills Community Leadership School had this to
say about the program, “I felt a much greater connection to
and understanding of Lake in the Hills and how everything
interconnects after completing Leadership School. It was a
powerful reminder that there are things out there much
bigger than ourselves and that every individual can make a
difference. On a personal level, I felt a great sense of
empowerment and a stronger ability to take control of my
destiny”. |
