The Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber is proud to offer two $1500 scholarships to candidates that show exemplary service to their community. The Chamber is offering this scholarship to help foster the development of leaders for our community who can address the issues of the next generation and have a lifelong dedication to prosperity and philanthropy in business and community endeavors. Additional Scholarship Opportunities

The Algonquin Leadership School Scholarship Fund, a Not for Profit Corporation, is pleased to announce that Algonquin Senior students at Jacobs High School, Dundee Crown High School and Huntley High School may now apply for a $1000 College Scholarship. One graduating senior from each school, planning to attend a two year or four year college or trade school in the 2008-2009 school year, will be selected to receive this award.

All forms and recommendations must be turned no later than April 15, 2008.

The Auxiliary of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital again offers scholarships for students residing in the hospital service area who will attend school in Illinois and pursue an education in a health-related field.

The GSH service area includes the following zip codes: 60010, 60012, 60013, 60014, 60021, 60042, 60047, 60050, 60051, 60060, 60067, 60073, 60074, 60084, 60098, 60102, 60110, 60118, 60156, 60192, 60194 and 60195.

The number of scholarships to be awarded will be based on the numbers and qualifications of applicants. Current references, transcripts, and proof of acceptance from the institution and acceptance into a health care professional program are required. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of attitude and desire toward education, leadership, citizenship, personality and financial need.

Applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered and filed with the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee no later than April 30, 2008. The recipients will be notified by early June.
